More and more Brits enjoy cycling - be it as a sport, for leisure or to commute to work. In 2021, nearly 7.5 million of us owned or had access to a bicycle, according to Statista - an increase of nearly 50% over five years. On top of that, the average mileage we pedal each year has also increased significantly by more than 60% between 2019 and 2020, according to government data.

This increase in popularity was almost certainly helped by the lockdowns we've had to experience over the past couple of years and with recent revisions to the UK Highway Code in place, cyclist are given more priority on our roads - which may help the popularity of cycling step up another gear.

For the growing number of cycling enthusiasts, the world's famous cycle races are marked firmly in the sporting calendar, such as following the famed Grand Tours including the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España. Watching one of the 'Monument' Classics such as Milan-San Remo, Paris-Roubaix, Liège–Bastogne–Liège or Italy's Giro di Lombardia are also exhilarating experiences, as are the famed Elite one-day races like the Strada Bianche.
